HIP Housing's Reverse Mortgage Consumer Counseling
provides objective information and
educational counseling on how seniors can turn their accumulated home value
into spendable cash so they can remain independent in their home and "age in place".
The income received from a Reverse Mortgage loan can be used for everyday living
expenses, home repairs, in-home care and to generally improve the quality of life.
As there is not any one option that is right for everyone, HIP Housing's staff
assesses the senior's needs and goals so that a decision can be made regarding the
appropriate plan. As a non-profit agency, HIP Housing has no vested interest in whether a loan is
initiated or closed, the emphasis is on educating and protecting seniors.
