How It Works
Shared Living Residences

These residences house participants in HIP Housing's Self-Sufficiency Program, a program that enables low income families to become self-reliant. The program provides subsidized rent or housing scholarships and support services, while participants continue their education and/or job training program.
Multi-Family Dwellings

HIP Housing purchases existing multi-family dwellings to be set aside for low- to moderate-income families. By rehabilitating and maintaining these properties, HIP Housing improves the quality of the neighborhood. As a result, the properties are well-integrated into the neighborhood and HIP Housing's clients have a greater sense of belonging. Currently, HIP Housing owns ten properties throughout San Mateo County.
Senior Housing

HIP Housing owns a 92 unit affordable apartment complex for seniors in San Mateo. The three-building complex includes two residential apartment buildings and a main building containing a community room, library, crafts room and full kitchen. HIP Housing provides residents with transportation and on-site services including group activities and support services.
Property Management

HIP Housing holds master leases on two properties that provide group-share housing for transitional and special needs populations. HIP Housing provides property management for nine properties that are owned by various cities within San Mateo County. These properties house both individuals and families.
